Using holistic disciplines like Shiatsu (body work), movement, nutrition, and emotional assessments together with kabbalistic wisdom, students will explore internal organs based on the five elements of Chinese medicine. When we have a deeper understanding of how the seasons, climate, and environment impact our wellness, we are better able to make positive choices for our body, mind, and soul.
The focus of this upcoming class will be the heart and small intestine, which are the dominant organs during the summer. According to Chinese medicine, the heart is the “emperor” or the “king” of all organs. The small intestine gives us the ability to differentiate between good and bad. Students will gain a basic understanding of how these organs connect to our overall wellness according to both Western and Eastern traditions. We will also discover:
